They came out on top against Lincolnview by a score of 44-35. Given Allen East's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while Lincolnview is ranked 324th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Allen East's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aubrey Young led the charge by scoring six points along with three steals. Soraya Jackson was another key contributor, scoring six points along with ten rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, Lincolnview saw an underclassman step up: Keira Breese scored 17 points along with five steals. That was a full 48.6% of Lincolnview's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlyn Price, who scored five points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Allen East has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. As for Lincolnview, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.
Allen East will be playing at home against Perry at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Allen East is coming into the contest with nine straight victories at home, so Perry is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Lincolnview, they will head out on the road to square off against Fort Jennings at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Lincolnview focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Thursday.
