Schenectady has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Mohonasen Warriors at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Last Thursday, Schenectady might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Ballston Spa an easy 56-31 win. While losing is never fun, Schenectady can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 373rd, while Ballston Spa is ranked 152nd).
Mohonasen has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 20 points or more this season. They blew past Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk 48-22.
Schenectady's defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5. As for Mohonasen, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Everything went Schenectady's way against Mohonasen in their previous matchup back in January of 2018 as Schenectady made off with a 61-39 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Mohonasen's Breanna Lott, who scored 24 points along with six rebounds. Now that she won't be playing on Wednesday, will it be that much easier for Schenectady to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
