Softball Recap: Cedar Creek Comes Up Short

Cedar Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-8 heartbreaker at the hands of Richards School for Young Women Leaders.

E Samarripa put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Samarripa was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, L Hentschel was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two). A Mata was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.

Cedar Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Richards School for Young Women Leaders, they moved to 1-6 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cedar Creek will venture away from home to take on Crockett at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th. As for Richards School for Young Women Leaders, they will head out on the road to challenge Bastrop at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th. Bastrop will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Richards School for Young Women Leaders surely won't give up without a fight.
