The Irmo Yellowjackets suffered their biggest loss since November 25, 2023 on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 55-30 walloping at the hands of A.C. Flora. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Irmo in their matchups with A.C. Flora: they've now lost eight in a row.
Despite the loss, Irmo saw an underclassman step up: Claire Howard scored 15 points along with nine rebounds.
A.C. Flora's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Terriana Gray, who scored 20 points along with three steals. Gray has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Tamira Delaney, who scored six points along with nine steals and eight rebounds.
Irmo's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for A.C. Flora, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.
Irmo will head out on the road to challenge Westwood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for A.C. Flora, they will be playing at home against Lugoff-Elgin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lugoff-Elgin has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 29.
