On Tuesday, Three Lakes/Phelps earned a 6-2 victory over Crandon.
Malia Szews made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Szews was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kylee Wilson and Haylee Barnekow did most of the damage at the plate: Wilson went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Barnekow went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs. That's the most hits Wilson has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Kate Koshuta, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Three Lakes/Phelps kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 19 consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Edgar made sure to put some runs up on the board against Pittsville on Thursday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 12-6 win. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.
Like Three Lakes/Phelps, Edgar also got a great game from a two-way player: Kendyl Apfelbeck. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off 12 hits. Apfelbeck has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.
In other batting news, Edgar got a massive performance out of Jorja Knetter, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Ella Baumgartner also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.
Three Lakes/Phelps' record is now 14-6. As for Edgar, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Three Lakes/Phelps suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Edgar when the teams last played back in May of 2022. Can Three Lakes/Phelps avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
