The Mid-Missouri HomeSchool Mavericks had already won 15 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.6 points), and they went ahead and made it 16 on Saturday. They managed a 70-64 victory over Lighthouse Christian. Given Mid-Missouri HomeSchool's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while Lighthouse Christian is ranked 340th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mid-Missouri HomeSchool to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kyle Aulgur, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Hargis, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds.
Lighthouse Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Judah Louderback, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds. Elijah Rahn was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five assists and two steals.
Lighthouse Christian struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Mid-Missouri HomeSchool's win bumped their record up to 20-2. As for Lighthouse Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.
Mid-Missouri HomeSchool's road trip will continue as they head out to face Sunnydale Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 1st. As for Lighthouse Christian, they will face off against Metro Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
