The Midway Green Wave will head out to face off against the Rockwood Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
On Thursday, Midway made easy work of Concord Christian and carried off a 10-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Green Wave.
Lorelai Langley made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Tatum Collier was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one double. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Sophia Parks was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, Rockwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 26-25 heartbreaker at the hands of York Institute. On the bright side, the 25- run performance marked the Tigers' highest-scoring game to date.
Aaliyha Morgan was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in six of her seven plate appearances with seven RBI, three runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Juliana Isham, who got on base in five of her seven plate appearances with six runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Midway's record is now 3-16. As for Rockwood, their loss dropped their record down to 0-15.
Midway got the 'W' in their previous meeting on Tuesday against Rockwood by a conclusive 16-5 score. Will the Green Wave repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
