Basketball Recap: St. George's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact St. George can now relate to. They took a 59-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thomas Jefferson Academy Jaguars. St. George's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, St. George's saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Gabriel Knecht posted 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Knecht has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Stroud Searcy, who had 12 points.

St. George's defeat dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Thomas Jefferson Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season.

St. George's does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Thomas Jefferson Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 64-50 loss against Citizens Christian Academy on the 26th.
