The Lincoln Lynx will head out on the road to face off against the Ballard Beavers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with ten consecutive losses dating back to last season for Lincoln and five for Ballard.
Last Tuesday, Lincoln was just a hair shy of victory and fell 14-13 to Rainier Beach.
Meanwhile, Ballard missed an extra point against Bishop Blanchet on Friday and it came back to haunt them. Ballard and Bishop Blanchet were almost perfectly matched up, but Ballard suffered an agonizing 54-53 defeat. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
The losing side was boosted by Joe Farley, who threw for 278 yards and six touchdowns. Farley hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for three straight games. Finn Liese also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Lincoln's loss was their tenth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-0 O'Dea and 8-0 King's (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 63% over those games). As for Ballard, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
Lincoln came up short against Ballard in their previous meeting back in September, falling 18-14. Can Lincoln avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
