Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Gideon

Gideon had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They blew past the Holcomb Hornets 3-0. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 2-0 victory back in September.

Layla Watkins paced Gideon's offense, picking up 22 kills. Watkins got some help from Aubree Sharp and her 30 assists. Watkins and Sharp didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with six apiece.

Gideon's win bumped their record up to 28-3. As for Holcomb, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-6-1.

Gideon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Holcomb, they will square off against Portageville at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
