The Chapin Huskies's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Andress Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. One thing working in Chapin's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven contests.
Chapin put the finishing touches on their 17th blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They blew past El Paso, posting a 58-29 victory on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Chapin has posted against El Paso since December 15, 2020.
Chapin got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jayden Leverett out in front who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Leverett has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Brandon Hymes was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with two steals and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Andress entered their tilt with Jefferson with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Andress took their matchup on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 70-24 victory over Jefferson. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Andress has managed all season.
Chapin's victory was their 20th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-4. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.65 points. As for Andress, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9.
Chapin took their win against Andress when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 63-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chapin since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
