If the Weskan Coyotes were riding high off their 71-43 takedown of Western Plains/Healy last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Weskan was dealt a 67-35 defeat at the hands of the Huskies on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Weskan has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Weskan still got an impressive performance from Trey Allen, who scored 20 points. That was a full 57.1% of Weskan's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Eli Aldridge was another key contributor, scoring three points along with two steals.
It was another big night for Drew Schemper, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds for Northern Valley. Schemper hasn't dropped below 15 points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Kinderknecht, who scored 17 points along with two steals.
Weskan's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Northern Valley, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 14-0.
Weskan will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Cougars at 3:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Hopefully Cheylin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Friday. As for Northern Valley, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the at 6:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Logan/Palco is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
