AA Region 3 recap September 24, 2013
Screven County moved up to 249 from 298 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in AA Region 3. The Gamecocks were able to move up by besting Windsor Forest 42-14.
Harlem added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Social Circle, 38-6. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Screven County's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Gamecocks feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Rashad Hughley has thrown for 515 yards and 4 touchdowns this season, while Donta Wilburn has 12 catches for 157 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Screven County takes on Harlem. Ron Duncan's team's offense has scored 112 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while Jimmie Lewis' team has allowed only 20 on the year.
The Bulldogs are currently in first, while the Gamecocks are in third.
Josey lost to Aquinas 49-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
