The Fremont Silverwolves will take on the Bonneville Lakers at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
Fremont's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over Northridge. The win continues a trend for the Silverwolves in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won eight in a row.
Kurt Dahl was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Kasen Pearson was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI.
Fremont was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northridge only posted a batting average of .125.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bonneville). They put the hurt on Ben Lomond with a sharp 19-0 victory on Monday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Lakers needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Brycen Munford tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jaygen Noble, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. He also put up a triple, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Wade Larsen, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Bonneville's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Fremont, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Everything went Fremont's way against Bonneville in their previous meeting back in March of 2016, as Fremont made off with an 11-3 win. Does Fremont have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bonneville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
