Football Recap: Mahrle Moe's Menacing Defense Leads First Coast over Baker County

First Coast lost to Baker County back in September of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Buccaneers secured a 25-20 W over the Wildcats. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Buccaneers.

First Coast can attribute much of their success to Kindred Heard, who picked up 91 receiving yards and one score. Mahrle Moe got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

First Coast didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Moe picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. Another thorn in Baker County's side was Tre'Shaun Martin, who picked up a sack and made nine total tackles.

First Coast now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Baker County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, First Coast will welcome Clay at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Buccaneers will be up against the Blue Devils' rather soft defense (which has allowed 40 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Baker County, they will head out to square off against Baldwin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
