If the Northwest Yeshiva Lions were riding high off their 70-39 takedown of the Pope John Paul II Eagles last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Northwest Yeshiva was outmatched by Auburn Adventist on the road and fell 84-38. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Northwest Yeshiva has suffered yet this season.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joe Benoliel, who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Evan Kaufthal, who scored seven points.
Auburn Adventist got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Zachary Ellis out in front who scored 19 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ellis has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of John-Andrew Dubreuil, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Northwest Yeshiva's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Auburn Adventist, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.
Northwest Yeshiva will be playing at home against Northwest Christian at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Auburn Adventist, they will head out on the road to face off against Summit Classical Christian School at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Summit Classical Christian School is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
