Sale Creek has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Sequatchie County Indians at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Sequatchie County took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Sale Creek, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, Sale Creek didn't have too much trouble with Gordon Lee at home as they won 56-41. Given Sale Creek's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 99th in Tennessee, while Gordon Lee is ranked 218th in Georgia), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sale Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bennett Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wilson has scored at least 25% of Sale Creek's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Moore, who scored 12 points along with 8 assists and 4 steals.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 61-34, which was the final score in Sequatchie County's tilt against Grundy County on Friday.
Despite the loss, Sequatchie County had strong showings from Ryker Terry, who scored 15 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals, and Beckham McKendric, who scored 12 points. The contest was Terry's fourth in a row with at least ten points.
Sale Creek's victory lifted them to 4-1 while Gordon Lee's loss dropped them down to 1-2.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Sale Creek hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 58.2 points per game. It's a different story for Sequatchie County, though, as they've been averaging only 44.6 per game. The only thing between Sale Creek and another offensive beatdown is Sequatchie County.
