Laurens lost against Fountain Inn back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Laurens Raiders were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 31-30 to the Fountain Inn Fury. The Raiders' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Laurens lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Zoe Young, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. That was a full 50% of Laurens' points, marking the fourth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Keyorie Yeargin was another key player, putting up two points in addition to ten rebounds and four steals.

Fountain Inn found their leader in sophomore Chaniya Jackson, who scored four points and five steals. The dominant performance gave Jackson a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Lexi Fuller, who earned six points and seven boards.

Laurens' loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Fountain Inn, they pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Laurens wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 32-21 victory against Southside on the 28th. As for Fountain Inn, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-59 defeat against Wren on the 28th.
