The Pace Academy Knights will take on the Forest Park Panthers at 5:55 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Pace Academy's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last six contests.
Pace Academy's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Drew as Pace Academy made off with a 22-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won seven games by nine runs or more so far this season.
Dylan Nelson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for Pace Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-6 otherwise.

In other batting news, Pace Academy let Miles Mador and Alston Mallis run wild. Mador got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Mallis scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Mador is becoming a predictor of Pace Academy's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Charles Smith, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Pace Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .774. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .545 or higher in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Forest Park came into Friday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Mays by a score of 10-7 on Friday.
Carmello Turner and Jaheem Williams did most of the damage at the plate: Turner scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Williams scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those three runs gave Turner a new career-high. Andre Turnipseed was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI.
Pace Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.3 runs over those games. Forest Park's win bumped their record up to 8-6.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Pace Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .506. However, it's not like Forest Park struggles in that department as they've averaged .464. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
