The Isle of Wight Academy Chargers will head out on the road to face off against the StoneBridge Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Isle of Wight Academy is no doubt hoping to put an end to a 15-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Isle of Wight Academy was beaten by the Eagles 80-47. Isle of Wight Academy has not had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Even though StoneBridge has not done well against the Vikings recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Everything went StoneBridge's way against the Vikings as the Cavaliers made off with a 53-33 win. The win was some much needed relief for StoneBridge as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
It was another big night for Tyler Thompson, who scored 18 points along with six steals and five assists. Douglas Marshall was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Isle of Wight Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. StoneBridge's record is now 9-10.
Isle of Wight Academy ended up a good deal behind the Cavaliers when the teams last played back in February of 2023, losing 72-56. Can Isle of Wight Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
