Shawnee Mission South came tearing into Tuesday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.5 points), and they left with even more momentum. They beat the Olathe East Hawks by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 50-33. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 53rd, while the Hawks are ranked 220th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Shawnee Mission South's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points over those games. As for Olathe East, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-14.

Coming up, Shawnee Mission South will venture away from home to take on Mill Valley on Friday. As for Olathe East, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Hawks face off against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Olathe North has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
