The Gaels led I Sunset - Southwest in scoring this week after putting up 79 points on the Bengals. Randall Cunnigham Jr. threw for 44 yards and 1 touchdown and ran for 32 yards during the win.
Joseph Ceniseros was the best receiver in the league this week as Centennial defeated Cimarron-Memorial. Ceniseros racked up 2 receptions for 45 yards. Lantz Worthington helped Centennial's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 31 yards.
Bishop Gorman's Cunnigham Jr. and Alize Jones led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-5 quarterback Cunnigham Jr. has thrown for 953 yards this season, while Jones has 23 catches for 368 yards. The Spartans' Michael Barnson leads the league in rushing yards with 1,125.
The marquee game in I Sunset - Southwest this week will be the clash between Tony Sanchez's team and the Bulldogs. The Gaels enters the game ranked first in the state, while Centennial ranks 13th.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Legacy takes on Cimarron-Memorial. The Longhorns have allowed 119 points this season, while John Parcells' team has given up 123. Legacy allowed 21 points last week as it beat Desert Oasis.
Leon Evans' team made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,302 from 3,697. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 20-0 victory over the Spartans last week.
