Basketball Game Preview: Dallas Christian Chargers vs. Bishop Gorman Crusaders

Dallas Christian is 7-1 against Bishop Gorman since January of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Dallas Christian Chargers will host the Bishop Gorman Crusaders at 7:30 p.m. Dallas Christian has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 13.

Dallas Christian came up short against McKinney Christian Academy on Tuesday, falling 68-44. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1001st, while the Mustangs are ranked 72nd).

Despite the defeat, Dallas Christian got top-tier performance from Quintin Hankins, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Hankins a new career-high in points.

Meanwhile, Bishop Gorman strolled past All Saints Episcopal with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 64-46. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Crusaders.

Bishop Gorman's win came from a few key players Dallas Christian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ej Coppock, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylon Miles, who went 7 of 16 on his way to 15 points and four steals.

Bishop Gorman smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in nine consecutive matches.

Bishop Gorman pushed their record up to 15-4 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.8 points. As for Dallas Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 7-15.

Dallas Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Bishop Gorman in their previous matchup back in February of 2020, winning 51-44. Does Dallas Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bishop Gorman turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
