Basketball Recap: Jayden Weaver Key Part of a Team Effort in Rams Win

It's playoff time, and Valley had no trouble coming through when it counted. They secured a 51-47 W over the Beauregard Hornets on Wednesday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 78-69 back in January.

Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jayden Weaver, who posted nine points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. The dominant performance gave Weaver a new career-high in blocks. Another player making a difference was Azerion Jennings, who earned 12 points and eight boards.

Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in ten consecutive matches.

Valley moved to 7-12 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Beauregard, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which is still a better percentage than their 4-15 record this season.

Valley and Beauregard could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. Valley (ranked 254th) will meet Briarwood Christian (ranked 79th) at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Similarly, Beauregard will challenge Sylacauga at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday down 353 places (421 vs. 68).
