Softball Recap: Frontier Finds Home Field Redemption Against Highland

Frontier's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Highland on Friday. The Titans were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Scots. Considering the Titans have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Taylor Sloss spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Emma Parnell, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Baden Conley, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Frontier's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-9. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Highland, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-7-2.

Frontier has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Centennial on the 7th. As for Highland, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-0 victory against Ridgeview on the 7th.
