Baseball Recap: Carter Has No Trouble Against Fulton

Carter got themselves on the board against Fulton on Wednesday, but Fulton never followed suit. They blew past the Falcons 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Green Hornets, who have now won six matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Mayson Lang made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 5.2 innings pitched. Lang was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March.

In other batting news, Luke Burnette was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Kingston Griph was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

The win made it two in a row for Carter and bumps their season record up to 12-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Fulton, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carter will square off against Morristown-Hamblen East at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Hurricanes have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.61 runs per game on average), something the Green Hornets will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Fulton, they will take on Lawrence County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Falcons surely won't give up without a fight.
