The Lamar Warriors had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.4 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 59-24 victory over Southwest Christian Academy at home. Lamar might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won five matchups by 21 points or more this season.
Ben Noonan was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. Noonan is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Caleb Green was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Lamar has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Southwest Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lamar will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Tournament Opponent on December 28th. Southwest Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Abundant Life at 4:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
