Division II-A recap Nov. 7, 2012
Johnston extended the longest winning streak in Division II-A this week by beating Westerly, 38-10. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Panthers.
Johnston's dynamic duo of Mike Caparco and Evan Hopson proved tough for the Bulldogs to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Caparco threw for 69 yards and one touchdown and Hopson had 95 yards receiving. Phil Ndifon helped Johnston's passing attack out by catching two balls for 65 yards.
Austin McQuaide was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 288 yards on 17 carries as Chariho bested Westerly. Hayden Pryor also contributed to the rushing game with 49 yards on the ground.
On the ground, the Chargers' McQuaide has rushed for 1377 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Hopson. The Johnston star has 13 catches for 439 yards.
Chariho led Division II-A in scoring this week after putting up 40 points on Toll Gate. McQuaide caught one passes for four yards in the win.
