The Escambia Gators had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 15-7 win over Pine Forest on Friday. Winning may never get old, but Escambia sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Dorrion White was his usual excellent self, rushing for 153 yards and a touchdown.
Escambia's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Pine Forest, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-5.
Escambia will head out on the road to face off against St. Augustine at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Augustine knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten games -- so hopefully Escambia likes a good challenge. Pine Forest does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
