There's no place like home for the Christ Our Rock Lutheran Silver Stallions, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Father McGivney Catholic on Tuesday and snuck past 67-64. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Father McGivney Catholic saw an underclassman step up: Nolan Keller scored 35 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Keller has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Wendler, who scored four points along with eight rebounds.
Christ Our Rock Lutheran pushed their record up to 14-13 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.7 points per game. As for Father McGivney Catholic, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Christ Our Rock Lutheran and the Explorers will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Marquette Catholic presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Silver Stallions in Illinois (the Explorers are ranked 150th, while the Silver Stallions are ranked 313th). As for Father McGivney Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
