Despite the loss, St. John Paul II had strong showings from Alyssa Jacobs, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds, and Aliyah Medrano, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Those nine rebounds set a new season-high mark for her.
St. John Paul II's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Jefferson County, their victory bumped their record up to 1-3-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. John Paul II will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Altha at 5:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
