After a string of six wins, the Norwich Free Academy Wildcats's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 42-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fitch. Norwich Free Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Despite the defeat, Norwich Free Academy had strong showings from Emily Orcutt, who scored ten points, and Jordyn Bay-kent, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Stringer, who scored eight points.
Norwich Free Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Fitch, their victory bumped their record up to 10-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Norwich Free Academy will square off against the Nor'easters at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Newington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Monday. As for Fitch, they will head out on the road to challenge the Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Connecticut (Bacon Academy is ranked 22nd, while the Falcons are ranked 33rd).
