Waubonsie Valley has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with five straight losses, while Benet Academy will come in with three straight victories.
Waubonsie Valley managed to slip by Metea Valley the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Warriors lost 9-3 to the Mustangs on Monday.
Dezirae Kelly made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Lily Elsea, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Benet Academy got the win against Marian Catholic on Thursday by a conclusive 11-3.
Sophia Rosner made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). Those 15 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Alaina Rosner was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Esther Lynn Rossi was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Benet Academy's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-14. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Waubonsie Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-16.
Waubonsie Valley might still be hurting after the 11-4 loss they got from Benet Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Warriors have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
