On Thursday, the stars were shining brightly for Oakland in a 56-41 victory over Hendersonville. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Oakland.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Oakland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elaura Cox, who scored ten points along with four steals. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for her. Alonna Poole was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds.
Oakland's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Hendersonville, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.
Oakland will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Beech at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Hendersonville is on the road again on Thursday and play against White House-Heritage at 3:00 p.m. on December 28th. White House-Heritage will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 280th, while Hendersonville is ranked 37th).
