The East Carteret Mariners will challenge the Pamlico County Hurricanes at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
East Carteret is headed in fresh off scoring the most  points they have   all season. They claimed a resounding  56-0 victory over Jones. The Mariners haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive  win against them.
Meanwhile,  there's no place like home for Pamlico County, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  last Friday. Everything went their way against Lejeune on Thursday as they made off with  a  42-19 victory. The  contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached  34-7.
Pamlico County's win came from a few key players East Carteret will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was  Treyvon Munford, who rushed for 135 yards and one  TD on only eight carries. His longest rush was for an incredible 86 yards.  Kamden Keyes was another key player, rushing for 117 yards and a pair of  scores on only 13 carries.
 Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Pamlico County proved: they limited Lejeune to a paltry 1.2 yards per carry. The team can thank  Caleb Paul for the heroic effort on defense: he. Pamlico County's run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed 4.03 yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 5.57 on average over their last five games.
 Pamlico County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  AJ Farley and  Baird Audilet. Paul was another major factor on D,  picking up  a  sack, making 11 total tackles,  and defending one pass.
 Pamlico County's win bumped their record up to 2-7. As for East Carteret, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
 Everything came up roses for East Carteret against Pamlico County in their previous matchup  back in October of 2024, as the  team secured  a  63-22 win. In that  game, the Mariners amassed a halftime lead of  42-14, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat  on Friday.
