The Discovery Titans will head out on the road to challenge the Meadowcreek Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 18 consecutive losses for Discovery and five for the Mustangs.
Last Tuesday, Discovery came up short against the Blue Devils and fell 63-51. While losing is never fun, Discovery can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 367th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 100th).
Meanwhile, Meadowcreek pushed their score all the way to 59 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 69-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Berkmar.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Adonai Mussie, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last six times he's played. Damari Wright was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Discovery's loss was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-19. Meadowcreek's record now sits at 5-15.
Discovery came up short against the Mustangs when the teams last played back in January, falling 63-51. Can Discovery avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
