The Sheldon Huskies fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Pleasant Grove by a score of 26-17 on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Sheldon, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Zayden Learson was a one-man wrecking crew for Sheldon as he rushed for 229 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.9 yards per carry, and also picked up 38 receiving yards. Learson was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 55 yards. Malakai Savage also helped out as he racked up 110 rushing yards.
Although Pleasant Grove took the loss, they still got scores from Antonio Vasquez-Williams and Caden Bemis.
Sheldon's win bumped their record up to 5-5. As for Pleasant Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sheldon will take on Turlock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Turlock is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games. As for Pleasant Grove, they will head out on the road to face off against Inderkum at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Inderkum knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Pleasant Grove likes a good challenge.
