Softball Recap: Narragansett Regional Wins Going Away Against Murdock

Narragansett Regional never let their opponents score on Monday. Everything went their way against the Murdock Blue Devils as they made off with an 8-0 win. Considering the Warriors have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Mia Manca made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Sam Boumil was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Gianna Manca was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Narragansett Regional was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Murdock only posted a batting average of .042.

Narragansett Regional has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Murdock, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-15.

Narragansett Regional does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Murdock, they will square off against Maynard at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Blue Devils' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
