The Trinity Shamrocks's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 53-40 win over Bishop McDevitt. Given Trinity's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Crusaders are ranked 250th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Owen Schlager continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points along with six rebounds. He hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Andre Steele, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Trinity has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Bishop McDevitt, they dropped their record down to 11-9 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trinity will take on the HANNA at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bishop McDevitt, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Bearcats at 3:30 p.m. on February 3rd. William Penn has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 440 points over their last six matchups.
