The Manchester Valley Mavericks were the 65-64 winner over the Liberty Lions when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Manchester Valley took a 56-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Liberty on Tuesday. Manchester Valley has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Manchester Valley still got an impressive performance from Carter Strohman, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Colton Enderle, who scored ten points.
Manchester Valley's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5. As for Liberty, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Manchester Valley won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Tuscarora at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. Tuscarora is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Liberty, they will head out on the road to square off against Francis Scott Key at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Francis Scott Key will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 269th, while Liberty is ranked 110th).
