The Gilmour Academy Lancers will head out to face off against the North Rangers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gilmour Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.6 runs per game this season.
Gilmour Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They never let Chagrin Falls get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory. The Lancers haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Layla Fortunato looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Aiden Pike was incredible, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Sophia Radolovic also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Gilmour Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chagrin Falls only posted an OBP of .238.
Meanwhile, North sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 victory over Kenston on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rangers.
Not much got past Bailey Licht, who gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Kenston off the board.
At the plate, North saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddy Ferrari, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Gilmour Academy pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for North, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 6-11.
Gilmour Academy's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's contest. The Lancers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for North, though, as they've been averaging only 1.4 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Gilmour Academy continue to outrun the ball?
Gilmour Academy took their victory against North in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 9-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
