5A District 4 recap October 29, 2013
Clay was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fourth to second in 5A District 4. The Blue Devils beat Palatka 42-31 earlier in the week.
Ponte Vedra fell to Menendez 35-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Colin Feller was a bright spot for the Sharks, as he threw for 192 yards and 2 touchdowns in the loss.
Ponte Vedra's dynamic duo of Feller and Zach Wawrzyniak proved tough for the Falcons to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Dillon Bates helped Ponte Vedra's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 60 yards.
Bilal Ally provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Clay beat the Panthers.
He went 12-24 with 4 interceptions.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Mike Lloyd's team's Wawrzyniak and Austin Reyes have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-1 quarterback Wawrzyniak has thrown for 894 yards this season, while Reyes has 28 catches for 320 yards. Trevon Bryant from Menendez leads the league in rushing with 1,062 yards.
In 175 carries Shannon Asbell has put up 944 yards this year.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Patrick Turner's team takes on Ridgeview. As it stands, the Falcons are in first, while the Panthers are in third.
