After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Fortune Early College, the Leroy Greene Academy Lions were happy to have found some success  on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy  72-56 victory over John Adams Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
  Cobee Wesley was  his usual excellent self,  scoring 31 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which  he has scored at least a third of Leroy Greene Academy's points. Another player making a difference was  Andres Martinez, who  scored 14 points.
 Despite the  loss, John Adams Academy had strong showings from  Luciano Allen, who  scored 13 points along with two  steals, and  Josh Harris, who  scored ten points along with eight  rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of  Isaac Cintean, who  scored eight points along with two  steals.
  Isaiah McKee, who's played more minutes than anyone else on the Patriots squad sat out for Tuesday's   contest. With  McKee sidelined, John Adams Academy had to make some big changes to the lineup. Three players got more time on the court than they're used to:  Cintean (16),  Connor McCoy (15), and  Harris (32). The trio had averaged 5.61, 6.43, and 16.05 minutes respectively before Tuesday's   contest. The new lineup might be seeing more playing time going forward considering the group combined for a total of 27  points and five assist.
 Leroy Greene Academy has  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 7-12 record  this season. As for John Adams Academy, they dropped their record down to 10-14 with that  defeat, which was their fifth straight  on the road.
 Leroy Greene Academy will  face off against Elite at 7:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Elite knows how to get  points on the board -- the  squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matchups -- so hopefully Leroy Greene Academy likes a good challenge. As for John Adams Academy, they will head out on the road to  square off against  Westlake Charter at 7:30  p.m.  on Thursday. One thing working in John Adams Academy's favor is that they have posted big  point totals  in their last eight contests.
