The Savannah Classical Academy Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their tenth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Portal, falling 95-45. Savannah Classical Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-20.
Joseph Thomas continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Portal, scoring 20 points along with five rebounds. Thomas continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Brian McQueen, who scored 19 points.
Savannah Classical Academy's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-10. As for Portal, their victory bumped their record up to 12-1.
Savannah Classical Academy will look to defend their home court on Friday against McIntosh County Academy at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully McIntosh County Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday. As for Portal, they will head out on the road to face off against Montgomery County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Montgomery County has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests.
