Yankton suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Monday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 52-26 walloping at the hands of O'Gorman. While losing is never fun, Yankton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while O'Gorman is ranked third).
Brandon Valley's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Yankton, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
Brandon Valley strolled past Yankton when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a score of 43-25. The rematch might be a little tougher for Brandon Valley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
