The Los Molinos Bulldogs will square off against the Maxwell Panthers at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Los Molinos 3.5, Maxwell 1.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Los Molinos took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They blew past Mt. Shasta 14-4. Considering the Bulldogs have won 12 matchups by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Dakota DeMarco made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Izick Nelson and Jaydin Underwood did most of the damage at the plate: Nelson went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run, while Underwood went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Nelson has posted since back in March. Wyatt Gillett was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Maxwell unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Sutter by a score of 3-2.
Maxwell saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Massey Baker, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Los Molinos' win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Maxwell, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Los Molinos has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Maxwell struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
