Basketball Recap: Kassie Koski's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Raymond/South Bend over Onalaska

Raymond/South Bend was the 68-36 winner over Onalaska when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Raymond/South Bend Ravens took a hard 51-37 fall against the Onalaska Loggers on Monday. The Ravens were down 45-25 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Raymond/South Bend's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kassie Koski, who posted 15 points and four steals. Koski is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Baugher, who put up seven points and 11 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Raymond/South Bend smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Raymond/South Bend's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Onalaska, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1.

Raymond/South Bend will finish 2024 at home by hosting Friday Harbor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Raymond/South Bend is facing Friday Harbor at the right time seeing as Friday Harbor is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Onalaska and Black Hills will round out the year against one another at at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Black Hills will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Onalaska surely won't give up without a fight.
