Basketball Game Preview: North Tampa Christian Academy Titans vs. Central Cobras

The North Tampa Christian Academy Titans will challenge the Central Cobras at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in North Tampa Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

North Tampa Christian Academy is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Haines City: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that North Tampa Christian Academy blew Haines City out of the water with an 81-41 final score. The Titans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 23 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North Tampa Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Toni Bryant, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Bryant's evening made it 15 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Brodey Cuffle was another key player, going 6 for 10 on his way to 17 points.

Meanwhile, in a tight game that could have gone either way, Central made off with a 69-68 win over Vero Beach. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cobras.

North Tampa Christian Academy better keep an eye on Christian Maxon. He was instrumental in Central's win, going 9 of 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 33 points and five boards. That's the most points Maxon has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Christopher Maxon, who posted 11 points in addition to eight assists and seven boards.

North Tampa Christian Academy pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.1 points per game. As for Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.
