The Destin Sharks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by Bay on the road and fell 58-22.
Bay can attribute much of their success to Taylor Carlson, who scored ten points along with three blocks. Those three blocks set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Nevaeh Williams, who scored nine points.
Destin's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.0 points per game. As for Bay, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Destin will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Rocky Bayou Christian at 2:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. As for Bay, they will head out on the road to face off against Choctawhatchee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
