Mountain View is 8-2 against Niwot since February of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Mountain View Mountain Lions will head out on the road to challenge the Niwot Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Mountain View won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Thursday. They were outmatched by Riverdale Ridge at home and fell 87-52. Mountain View's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Mountain View got a solid performance out of Dylan Garland, who scored 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Garland has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tyson Mares-Benz, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Niwot's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their seventh straight loss. They took a 60-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Frederick. Niwot has struggled against Frederick recently, as their match on Thursday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Mountain View's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Niwot, they bumped their record down to 3-7 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home.
Mountain View was able to grind out a solid victory over Niwot in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, winning 61-50. Does Mountain View have another victory up their sleeve, or will Niwot turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
